Churnable Cash Back Credit Cards

This section of our credit card reviews will consist of rewards cards that you can get multiple sign up bonuses from. These credit cards are known as churnable cash back credit cards.

Gold Delta Skymiles American Express (Personal)

Sign Up Bonus = 30k Delta Skymiles
Bonus Criteria = Spend 500$ in the first 3 months
Annual Fee = 95$ (0$ first year)

American Express has listed that anyone who has not held this card for at least 12 months is eligible for the sign up bonus. Because of this I cancelled my card after having it for 11 months last November. I will be signing up for this card again this coming November. For reference, 30k Delta Skymiles was enough for one domestic round trip flight from the midwest to Las Vegas. With a modest requirement of 500$ over 3 months, why not save money on a trip you would already go on? What would you do with a few hundred dollars? Start investing?

Gold Delta Skymiles American Express (Business)

Sign Up Bonus = 30k Delta Skymiles
Bonus Criteria = Spend 500$ in the first 3 months
Annual Fee = 95$ (0$ first year)

You may think to yourself, ‘I don’t own a business, I can’t get a business card.’ That is incorrect. I also thought this, but I learned that you can actually sign up as a sole proprietorship[1] just by using your first and last name as the business name and your social security number as the businesses tax ID.

I successfully received my business card from Amex the same day I cancelled my first personal version of this card. This card has the exact same verbiage as the personal so you can get the same bonus 12 months after cancelling. Because of the churnable nature of this card my wife and I alternate having the business and personal card. This fall I will cancel my business card and sign up for the personal and my wife will cancel her personal and get the business. Rinse and repeat yearly.

[1]: If you have a business idea, starting a sole proprietorship business to earn extra income is quite simple. I did it while attending University(Wallet Engineer #1). You should check into tax structure and financial liability, though, as there are pros and cons of all business types.
